Hola Lynwood!
We arrived Saturday on time and were greeted at the airport by Pedro and his family. We had dinner with them, picked up the translator and then traveled to Union de San Antonio to check into the hotel.
Sunday we traveled to Leon to attend church with the folks at Emmanuel Baptist Church. After church we had lunch (home-made pazole) with the uncle of the pastor and celebrated his birthday. We spent the afternoon with the people of the church and discussed the growth of their church and future work in the ranches with us. They now have 30 attending in the morning service and over 57+Sunday evening? And the bathroom actually works now! There was standing room only and it was incredible to see!
Monday we went to Lagos and had breakfast at Juanitas Gorditas. We came back to Union and delivered the things we brought with us to the missionary couple Daniel and Laural. We spent the rest of the day discussing the progress in Union and then attended a Bible study with a couple they are counseling on parenting. This Bible study turned into an opportuity to share the gospel with Luia and Ilianna. They had lots of questions and we enjoyed the time with them.
After breakfast on Tuesday Daniel met us and we toured the cheese factory of Luis and Martha (this is another couple from the Bible study at Daniel and Laural's)
Next we traveled to the new town , Tlacuitapan, where we may want to start a new work. We prayer-walked the town and now we will see how God leads us). It is very quiet there and we visited with a man who has a great testimony and is drug free after 27 years. He gives God the glory and it was great to hear. Daniel also took us to visit a woman who is a Christian and we enjoyed her stories of witnessing.
We met Dennis for lunch and picked up the posters for the conference. When we got back to Union and met back at Daniel & Laural's with several ladies to divide up the town to deliver flyer and posters. It was another late night but we are seeing lots of progress.
Today we will be delivering the flyers personally to our list and putting the posters up all over town.
Keep us in your prayers..............we have received a little opposition from the Catholic Church and we will know the effect by the number attending the conference Friday night.
Hasta luego para hoy ! Jeff, Kim, Bob & Cheryl

Mexico Mission Trip - January Family Conference - Saturday
Hola Lynwood - last night the conference went GREAT! There was over 90 people in attendance at the new location. Everyone felt the new location was a positive change - it was closer to the town square, everyone lived within walking distance, and a little smaller room that created a better environment for a seminar - it brought everyone closer to each other & the speaker. Afterwards the local bible studies provided snacks which allowed for a time of visiting with everyone for questions/answers and even a time to share the Gospel! Please pray for these new contacts to get connected with one of the local bible studies or even get a new bible study started! Also we had audio CD copies of all of the conferences to date & alot of people took them for themselves and to share with others.
We had a good planning/stategy session with IMB Missionary Dennis Johnson, Rene Palma, Daniel & Laurie Graff - we will be coming back in March for another family conference. It was good for Bro Mark & Dennis to visit - come to find out they attended college & seminary together and have alot of the same friends & contacts. As Dennis encouraged us, this is an exciting time for the work in Union as we are finally starting to see the fruits of our labor over the past 4 years! Please keep praying for the new converts and the new prospects as the enemy will surely begin a new attack!
Early this morning we got Bro Mark off at the airport so he can fly back to preach on Sunday - the rest of us cannot leave until Sunday due to heavy travel out of Leon this week! Even though this was a short week, but it was a GREAT week! We were able to meet with all of our Great Commission Partners, encourage the new bible studies, and develop strategies for future work - we accomplished all we set out to do, even with a lost day!
Please pray for safe travel tomorrow (Sunday) & we will see you Sunday evening!

Mexico Mission Trip - January Family Conference - Friday afternoon
GOD IS GOOD! First I want to thank everyone who has been praying for us all! Last night we went to the monthly prayer meeting of the 2 home bible studies in Union. After a time of singing, reading the bible, and discussion - 4 ADULTS PRAYED TO RECEIVE CHRIST IN THEIR HEARTS! PRAISE GOD! These are our first converts in the town of Union de San Antonio!
After the prayer meeting, we went to visit one of the families that could not attend because the husband was not feeling well & we were able to visit & pray with them.
Today we went to San Juan de los Lagos to the cathedral to experience the masses of people seeking forgiveness & healing from the idol on display - it is a great reminder and an eye-opener that our fight is not against flesh & blood - it is a spiritual fight!
Tonight we have the family conference - please be in prayer at 7pm tonight for the conference. If possible, I will try to post about conference.
Thanks again for praying! See you Sunday!

Mexico Mission Trip - January Family Conference - Thursday
We arrived on Wednesday after an unexpected lay-over in Houston due to the weather on Tuesday. All is well - is just made a short trip - SHORTER!
On Wednesday we spent time in fellowship with Pedro in Lagos, Daniel & Laurie in Union, and Pastor Joel& family in Leon. It was a long day, but great to fellowship and plan with our Great Commission partners here in Mexico.
The Family Conference is on Friday night, but the location has moved to a large banquet hall one block off of the town plaza. We think this will allow more people to attend who will walk to the conference. Also this conference topic has been the most requested topic from the response cards of the past conferences.
Today we will visit in Caliche with the family involved in the ministry and attend the monthly prayer meeting of the 2 bible studies in Union. It is exciting to see how God is working during our absence and the people here are growing in their faith.
Keep praying for Friday nights conference.

Mexico Mission Trip - January Family Conference - Tuesday
TRAVEL TROUBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!
We left Cape Girardeau at 2am on Tuesday morning & spent almost 2 hours in traffic due to major wrecks and accidents on I-55 in Arnold & St. Louis. Some freezing rain hit St. Louis & they were not ready for it!
When we finally arrived at the airport & parked the car, the airport shuttle could not make it thru the parking lot to pick us up - we had to make our way to the airport shuttle.
Finally we got to the ticket desk, but as we were checking in, they were closing the door on the plane! The agent got us onto the next flight out of St. Louis to Houston, but could not get us out of Houston to Mexico! She put all of us on the first flight out of Houston on WED morning and had us on stand-by for Tuesday afternoon.
When we finally arrived in Houston (after the time we should have been in Mexico), we could not all be guaranteed to make stand-by, so we decided to lay-over in Houston and all head out 1st thing Wednesday morning.
God is in control and has a reason for us to lay-over in Houston. Please continue to pray for us as we travel and we are looking forward to all God is going to do on this trip. Mark Friday evening on your prayer calendar as we present 'ANGER - the Ticking Time Bomb' family conference in Union de San Antonio, Jalisco, Mexico.

GOOGLE EARTH
Are you still not sure what part of Mexico Lynwood has adopted for our Mexico outreach? Put the following locations into Google Earth and get a better feel for where Lynwood has been working over the past few years.
León, GT, Mexico - this is our gateway city, the location of the airport.
Unión de San Antonio, JA, Mexico - Lynwood has adopted the county of Union de San Antonio and this is the county seat. If you find the city square, this is where our hotel for each trip is located. Also if you see the photo of the city entrance, the conference center where we hold the family conferences is located just below the entrance on the main road. There are currently 2 home bible studies being held each week in Union.
San Juan de Los Lagos, JA, Mexico - this is the location of the main cathedral where most of the peoples make a pilgrimage to each year. Click on one of the blue squares to see a photo. We will share more about the significance of this location later.
Lagos de Moreno, JA, Mexico - this is the nearest city to Union. IMB personnel have engaged and started home bible studies in this city. This is also the hometown of Pedro and his family, our man of peace.
San José del Caliche, Unión de San Antonio, JAL, Mexico - this is small village/town in the county of Union where we have started a home bible study in the home of Clementina, her husband and 9 children! They are a great family and excited their new faith.
Hopefully this will give you a glimpse of where Lynwood is working - hopefully we can put this into a presentation we can share later.
